Well, the studio is in full swing now and we were so excited to have my friend Tena come in with her three GOHR-geous kids to help us test out the lights for groups. Looks like everything went well, there were no tears, AND I think Tena got a little break by having two extra sets of hands in myself and Heather!

I cannot tell you how many times we’ve been asked if we do studio work! Up until now, the answer has been “no”! Well, as any good photographer should do, I’ve been working to learn new things this winter so I can offer more to my clients and expand my work into other areas of photography. I have partnered up with my second photographer for weddings and super close photo pal, Heather, and we have been diligently trial and erroring our way through the studio set up process. We totally could plop someone on a white background and call it a day, but we want this to be special… something you don’t see every day… something that stops you in your tracks!

So, the good news is that we are making progress. The bad news is that we’re not quite where we want to be yet. We’ve got the lights and the “stuff” to go with it, but now we need some live people. We are looking for brand new babies (0-10 DAYS old) and babies who can support themselves sitting up, but who are not mobile yet. Yes, this may seem very specific, but we just need to test things out, and that will be difficult enough to do without chasing small people around! Don’t get us wrong, we love, love, love your humans of all ages, but we just need some solid practice. If you haven’t been following our escapades over at The Photo Junkies, it’s a must read. Hopefully you will laugh a little and enjoy our random goodness. So, without further ado, here it a bit of the progress we’ve made in the studio department.

For all interested, we are already starting to book up for the spring and will be adding studio to the mix probably sometime in March – so don’t wait too much longer to book your session!

You may all remember my friend “G” who came to us last year for the first time right around her first birthday! Well, she is now a year older and a year bigger… and she TALKS! It is so funny to not see these little people for such a long time (half of her life to be exact!) and see how much they change! Her parents are clearly g-o-r-geous and her mom also just opened her own photography business – best compliment ever to be picked by a fellow photog!! She just could not be cuter!!! Every fall I run into the same issue… I get so bogged down with shooting other people’s events and families that I nearly run out of time to squeeze in my own kids pictures before Christmas! Luckily, the weather has been so amazing this fall, we were still able to make it out in mid-November with only some light clothing! Yay! More to come very soon!

I am so happy to post this sneak peek tonight! You may recognize these cutie-patootie kids from earlier this summer! They are our newest neighbors who have added some much needed youthfulness to our street… and they are just one of the nicest families you will ever meet, which is just icing on the cake for us! We had so much fun tonight rolling around in the leaves and enjoying the not-too-hot, not-too-cold weather and grabbed so many great pictures! Mom and Dad are just going to have to wait to see pictures of the two of them… ;) I just love teasing my clients!!! More to come soon!

They’re baaaack! The twins and Miss J are back again! It has been almost exactly one year since I first had the pleasure of shooting these super duper cute kids, and I cannot believe how much they have all changed! The boys are starting to look like little men (and SO much like mom and dad it’s just b-a-n-a-n-a-s!), and of course Miss J was only a few months old the first time we met, so…. I think, like most photographers, there is nothing I love more in the world of photography than really amazing photographers!! I headed out with my second photographer (Mrs. Heather Rega of Heather Rega Photography) this week to scout the location of an upcoming wedding, and she caught some super cute pics of my littlest dude, Adler. She does NOT give herself enough credit – amazing, right?!?

Okay, so definitely NOT the Brady Bunch with only three kids, but tons of fun nonetheless!! Traci is a good photographer friend of mine who is finally updating their family pics as their current picture was taken when their middle dude was a newborn! My how quickly families change! We had a ton of fun, played a few rounds of Candyland, and even shared secrets about mom and dad (don’t worry, I won’t tell!)! More to come…

Welcome to the Wonderful World of the Wacky Wolaks! Seriously – super fun family and despite the awful sticky heat, I could have hung out with my new friends B and R all day long! There were tons of smiles, super well-behaved kids, an amazingly laid back mom and dad, and even a water fight! I mean seriously, does it get any better than that?! I had a blast! Thank you so much Wolak Family!!!

{New (young) Neighbors!!}

So, we moved to Hilly Haven Court three and a half years ago. We loved the mature trees, the manicured lawns, and the general Cleaver-esque feel to the street. What we didn’t know was that the lawns were manicured because everyone was either retired and had time to manicure said lawns, or they had older children who they had groomed to become their lawn slaves. We should have looked for untrimmed edges and hedges, sun-worn toys, and sidewalk chalk artwork! Needless to say, we are constantly referred to as being “babies” (not in the whiny sense, but in the I-could-be-your-mother sense) and our children are the only nappers on the block… until last month! We have new neighbors! They are not permanent, but we will take it! They have three kids very similar in age to our younger two and they are transplants from Wisconsin – right up our alley! The kids have played together a few times and late yesterday afternoon I finally broke down and busted out the camera – it’s hard to refrain from constantly taking pictures, but I didn’t want to scare them off, so I’ve tempered my photo addiction until now! I’m surprised mom didn’t look at me and say ENOUGH ALREADY at some point – once I start, I just can’t stop!!
