{Scrub-a-Dub}

March 25, 2010

As a parent, I have come to realize that bath time is appreciated by both kids and parents alike… for kids, it is a little like swimming with the added bonus of smelling clean when you are done.  For parents, it is a time when (most) kids are entertained (and contained) for at least a short period of time!  With the assistance of my oldest, we dumped giant cup of water after giant cup of water on my middle child, Noah (my oldest was unsurprisingly willing to assist me in this task) and started shooting!  This was one of my favorites from the night:

{Party of Two}

We thankfully moved this engagement session up a day since the next day’s weather was looking to be a bit less than favorable!  I am SO glad we did!  It was absolutely perfect picture-taking weather with a super awesome, soon-to-be husband and wife!  I will be shooting their wedding – my first – in May and can hardly stand the wait!  They are so amazing, fun, loving – I could not be happier with how their session turned out!

Donnell Probst Photography is finally joining the 21st Century!  Let’s face it, most people no longer keep a box of 4×6 prints of every life event.  In this age of technology, we are storing, viewing, and sharing images through our computers and via the internet.

Because almost every client I shoot requests the digital files from their session – and because this is 2010 – Donnell Probst Photography is replacing our prints/print packages with all Digital Packages.  Digital packages start at $375 and individual images can be added a la carte to any package making your final product completely customized to your needs!  This means instead of trying to determine how many prints your are going to want or need from this experience and getting Grandma’s order in a timely manner, you will have your images to store digitally, share with friends on Facebook, and print at your leisure!

Better yet, you will have better control over ordering for your family and friends, and can even split the cost of the digital package between family members and share the disc for individual printing purposes!

Each digital package comes with your fully edited images in both full-resolution and web-size to serve all of your digital image sharing needs.  Additionally, each disc is accompanied by a full print release to several high-quality, St. Louis area and online retail printers.  Simply provide your release to one of the approved printers and enjoy creating prints and photo products for years to come without any hassle!

Donnell Probst Photography will continue to offer various custom photo products such as gallery wrapped canvas, portfolio boxes, and float wraps for your higher level photography needs.   Please see our website for the full Digital Package pricing menu!

{Not-So-Baby Girl}

March 18, 2010

The beauty of having a child over the age of 7 is that they are willing to sit for me whenever I am testing new equipment, working on new techniques, or just need a subject to take pictures of to get my photography fix.  Because we are headed into the busy season, I wanted to snap  a few pics of my oldest because I may not have the chance again for a few months!  ;-)  She is beautiful as always, and looking more and more like a young lady instead of my baby girl!  Scary but amazing all at the same time!

{Over the Moon}

March 8, 2010

Here are some more pictures from our adventures this past weekend!  I feel as though I’ve been released from the strangulating grip of winter and  now the Probst Fam is takin’ the world by storm… or heading to the park for the afternoon!  I am also teaching my daughter how to shoot with my old D50 – she is picking up manual so quickly it’s almost scary!  I know professional photogs who don’t shoot in manual, so I am more than over-the-moon to say the least!

{My Joy}

As a photographer, I am constantly considering other people’s images, “the light”, my business, marketing, etc., etc., etc…. but I so often forget to take a moment to capture my own kids!  Bringing a new camera into my life has caused me to take a step back and go back to using my camera on what is most important to me and why I became a photographer in the first place: my kids!
